Two Artists Walking
Our Director Dinah Kazakoff and former Resident Artist Agnieszka Paruszewska are walking the Camino De Frances to raise money for the Arts Centre!
Once known for the industrialisation of iron and steel, Corby’s recent regeneration has seen exciting cultural developments one of which is the Rooftop Art Centre aptly situated on the rooftops of the Willow Place Shopping Centre.
The Rooftop Arts Centre is a hive of artistic endeavours by a diverse range of resident artists, volunteers, and visitors to the ongoing classes and exhibitions that take place in the varying gallery venues. It is a place where ideas are shared; small projects thrive with the wider community at the heart of its ethos.
Director Dinah Kazakoff and former Resident Artist Agnieszka Paruszewska are two women of different ages and cultural backgrounds who are joining forces, uniting their common passion of walking and are setting off on an adventure in hope of raising money for the valued Rooftop Arts Centre.
Their goal is to walk 500 miles of the ‘Camino de Frances’ (Way of St James) – a spiritual pilgrimage that is a well-trod route by millions. This ambitious feat of endurance will begin in the Northern part of Spain and the capital of Navarre, Pamplona and will culminate at Santiago de Compostela the capital of northwest Spain’s Galicia region also known as the alleged burial site of the Biblical apostle St. James.
Dinah and Aga have chosen November to take to the terrain; usually a quieter period with fewer hikers and November also marks a slower pace at the Arts Centre after a busy summer of events. Their wish is to honour the self-funding charity raising awareness and monies to boost the profile, reputation, and amenities that support the community of Corby.
